So, Walking Dead fans: I have a question before tonight's episode; this is about Rick in Season 1

I missed several episodes at the beginning ... how the heck did Rick manage to find Shane, Lori, Carl, and the group they were with? I saw the episode(s) where he leaves the hospital, the horrible incident with the horse (actually, I changed channels as soon as I had an inkling of what was going to happen), the time he spent with the man and his son ... but missed the reunion with his family.

Was is just luck?

Glenn and some of the others were in a nearby store getting supplies. Glenn saw Rick in trouble and helped him out, and then Rick helped the rest of the gang get out of Atlanta. But at the time, neither Rick nor Glenn knew about the connection they both had with Shane, Lori, and Carl.

by the asian kid, he teamed up with half the crew who was together with his family. Once they made it out of Atlanta they reunited somewhere out in the woods.
