I got sick every time I ate papa john's pizza.
Not sick because of his politics, just a nausea sick because of the food.
It didn't happen just once, nor twice, nor three times, but every time. No health code violations that I know of. They're still open.
Since I got sick, the times I ate there became more spaced out, so it couldn't have been a one off thing, like bad peppers.
I have one allergy, but it's only blue cheese and penicillin.
I usually have an iron stomach, but it just makes me sick.
anyone else?

(12,132 posts)I can't say it made me physically ill but it always disappointed. I won't even eat it for free now.
I got a local independent by my house that does great pizza. And stromboli. And zeppoles.

I have no idea what they are. The squirts?
I gave up eating papa johns a long time ago. Like I said, it makes me feel sick.

(42,163 posts)We mostly get the frozen kind, otherwise it's Papa Murphy's. We also have Pizza my Heart (yummy) and a Round Table. I haven't been in the latter in over a decade.

(47,675 posts)Fortunately we have local pizza shops in the area - much better pizza than the massive chains.

(5,364 posts)It's just pizza in the most academic of senses: Round dough ( too airy ) bland tomato sauce ( and too sweet too ) and tasteless rubbery cheese. I mean, you can hold a slice from the crust end and it won't droop. "Real" pizza is somewhat greasy and the slice has to be folded over to keep the tip from drooping, and the crust is not quite crispy, the bottom being just slightly charred. The cheese should be real mozzarella and in most cases has a taste that tends to linger in the mouth.
One thing is clear; with real pie you sure as hell shouldn't need to drown it in that processed garlic sauce. Lord only knows what's in that!

(1 post)After a few times of ordering the cheese-sticks and feeling terrible I decided to try the a philly-cheesesteak papadilla.
I get something similar to an extreme, excruciating indigestion from eating papa johns. I am ALSO allergic to penicillin.
I eat pizza from everywhere and have no problems, only with Papa Johns. I've seen in a few scattered posts and threads that there are others that have similar problems and wish I knew what the real problem was.

(6,265 posts)about Papa Johns's I remember how this person on TV ads now, I assume CEO=CFO, reacted when President Obama was running for POTUS. A pure racist in my book. {Pizza may be tasty, but his evil left a foul taste and smell. I never ordered again.
