I rarely have to stay late, although if I'm swamped I will try come in an hour early and have lunch while work.
Do you have a particular time that us busier than normal? I have tax season.

(66,409 posts)Not medication refills and things like that; I try to get those out same-day. But patient records from previous providers, following up on referrals, formulating treatment plans, reviewing lab results, etc. I like a nice, clean desk at the end of my late-night.

(66,409 posts)With a hint of Musty Office.
If only the paper was scented with lemon or orange, that would be nice...

(66,409 posts)I was just reading about primary care e-visits in my daily medical alert about ten minutes ago. It reports the results of a study that suggests that e-visits with a primary care provider for minor complaints like sinusitis result in overprescribing of anti-biotics. It makes sense; if the provider can't actually examine the patient and determine if the symptoms are viral or otherwise, he or she will prescribe a course of anti-biotics to cover their bets.
I don't do e-visits. If I don't have the patients in front of me, I'm not going to diagnose them. Just good medical sense...
