Every single day, I get more than my share of grumpy ass people walking in my door at work. But, I also get a handful of truly sweet, funny, kind, grateful folks.

Because of her kind and gentle manner, I knocked $10 off the cost of her bill. More than 50%. I love making people smile, when I have the opportunity.

You're one of those people I would go out of my way for. I would work late on a Friday to get something done for you. It doesn't sound like much, but it's all I have. You've given us so much more than pics on a screen. You've brightened our days when darkness was unrelenting.

You have no idea how glad I am that you've decided to stay. It sounds so selfish, but we need you.

I am sitting here,curled up on my couch listening to the wind blow outside, trying to bring words through my very choked up throat, (because I have to speak my words aloud as I type!)trying to put into words what I would like to say. How do I respond to something so beautiful? IRL,I would probably invite you over for tea!

I was taught once that in speaking, to always make sure you have timing, content,and context.
Through all the political, professional,and personal things we go through, on a day to day basis, to have you, knowing that you do this to bring so many of us the pleasure of laughter is the greatest gift, and your thanking me? I brought forth one sad time in my life, thanking you for being there at the same time every week, and from outpouring of sincerity, I was not the only one mourning the loss of something sweet.
I am looking foreword to being here every Sunday morning with this wonderful little village. Something happened I think perhaps our hearts grew three sizes and for one moment, we saw what humanity can accomplish. And I'm sure that my little brother Dan,would have been very happy about the outcome!

This whole kerfuffle, and numerous other flame wars I have noticed in other places on DU brought back some childhood memories.
I'm forty(almost) and I remember as a child, the discipline that worked most on me and my huge brood of siblings was being ignored. Parental Screaming, and corporal punishments just seemed to escalate our bad behaviors. In my adult life, I don't entertain or respond to childish behavior or tantrums, I just don't feed into their sick little deal. I do the same here, if I see something I disagree with, I comment and move on, or just move on. Like the OP stated, I don't have that kind of energy to engage in a battle of posts.
On matters of my posts having objectors in in the comment threads, I say, if someone is offended by an OP, comment once, and then they can just go read something else. I think there is a lot of growing up to do in the ranks, I thought that people of like or similar minds came hear to converse, share information and maybe have some fun. You can watch inflammatory drama on reality tv, for Pete's sake. Perhaps there should be a forum or group for bratty comments and jokes of poor taste.

Just know, that where ever a cute animal photo is shared, there will always be someone who was happy to view it. Thanks for LOL Cats. Ignore those too immature to see past their own deal to enjoy your efforts.
