It's a mansion in Saratoga Springs flanked by two matching, free-standing, three-story towers and a concrete swimming pool in the front. It was built by film director Barton for use during the racing season. The left tower was a rental space with three separate stories my friend lived in during the early '80s. The whole place was kind of ramshackle even then. One day he showed me the right tower. It was unheated and partially exposed to the elements but the interior was amazing -- a cavernous, unbroken three-stories with a spiral staircase and lined with books all the way to the top. The buildings are still there and for all I know the books are too.
