Seems to me I had a pretty decent sized buddies list back in the day (DU2) and the only one I still talk to at all is Frylock.
I miss my old friends . . . sniff.

(5,170 posts)This thread is making me nostalgic for the old days when you'd have a discussion and someone you knew (from prior discussions) would jump in on your side. Nowadays, I hardly know anyone in any threads, and I seem to post a lot of threadkillers. Maybe people just don't trust me because I only have 2,500 posts. I remember when you topped out at 1,000+ and anyone who made it to that level was "in." You'd get a big celebratory thread in the lounge in your honor and everything.
Do they even do that any more or do you have to have 50,000 posts to rate?
Lots more 'troll hunting' these days too. It's not always safe outside the lounge . . .

OrwellwasRight
(5,170 posts)mrbenchley and I did not get along. I may have eventually put him on ignore.
Broken_Hero
(59,305 posts)mrbenchley got along with many. I got here in Nov of 04 and read til I joined in May of 05. I read a lot of the stories on the front page, and I remember Plaid Adder writing about Kerry's loss, and other issues that may/may not have caused Kerry to lose. The other names I remember from the Tookie Williams war...I'm very bad with remembering names, but with that issue being pulverized I did remember a few. I remember a lot of other names, most of them Lounger's, but to pin down chronologically the names I recall, I think the list I provided is the most accurate.
OrwellwasRight
(5,170 posts)I know what you mean though. It's been a lot a years--how could you remember the earliest names? It's just guesswork at this point. I joined in 2004. And have never posted religiously through I read LBN every day. I try to stay out of the wars, though I stepped in it big time during the Trayvon Martin discussions. Too many pro-gunners that weren't willing to really "discuss" it, just wanted to mock other posters for not knowing the various gun makes and models so how could they know anything about gun policy? I don't think I ever really participated in any of the big primary battles, but I have insulted my share of Blue Dogs, and done lots of lurking.

Kephra, Andy S. (I can't for the life of me remember his user name now.....I hate getting old!), Nosjami, Will Pitt, LynnSin and Mattcom and ZombyWoof. Ok now some of the names are coming back so I will stop before I start to rattle.
