It's OK to be sad. It's also often good to interact with people face to face, instead of just online struggle4progress Dec 2012 #14

photos? Usually nature scenes?

I don't know what's going on, and it's none of my business, but I do hope you get to stay.

Look, I have to leave soon (work, not DU) and don't have time to talk you down. I probably won't be on later.

You can't leave. There are many days when your posts keep me from tearing my hair out or throwing rocks at customers.

Please.

I'd hate for you to leave DU, though. I always click on your threads, and I'm never disappointed.

Could you take a short break to recharge your batteries, and then come back? *fingers crossed*

I just have a lot of things I have to deal with including my depression. I had gotten off track with my anti-depressant and I need to get that straightened out. Also, next semester I will have 4-5 classes to teach instead of the 2.

I also need to get back turning wood. I have got a lot of elm that needs turning. That is very therapeutic.

With all that's going on at the most difficult time of the year tossed in with the state of DU, even those that don't suffer from depression are being hit hard. It has to be even more difficult for those that do suffer from depression. I find myself tearing up at some really small things. Even the happy ones.

Just remember where you can come if you need a laugh, a virtual hug or a word or two of support. I'll miss your posts for awhile. They're very therapeutic.

Warm, positive thoughts to you, dear Ashling.

The short days always get to me at this time of year. I have Seasonal Affective Depression as well as plain old depression.

Some things that help me with SAD are getting as much sunlight as possible and taking Vitamin D (on doctor's orders). I have a Sun Box and use it for at least 20 minutes a day from late September until late February.

One thing that really helped was a winter solstice ritual I attended this past weekend. At one point they passed around a basket of pine cones and asked us to think of something we wanted to get rid of in our lives, then cast it into a fire pit. I cast away depression, and actually feel much better this week.

In any case, I hope you feel better!

I used to sing but my dogs caught on and want to sing with me. It gets noisy. Do you like chocolate?

Haul water, chop wood.
