Friday is both Trash Day AND the end of the world so...

A great opportunity to get rid of some items and ideas that belong in the past.

I am getting rid of an old CRT monitor (goes to the local recycler who takes all the metals out), a toy ATV that my dogs loved to death (it would talk and make noises when you press or bite the buttons), clothes, things from 2 moves ago and whatever other stuff I find.

Stuff is the easy part. I like having space, empty space, perhaps because I lived in a 240 sq ft apartment once and got very used to throwing something out before something new could come in, but the bigger challenge and opportunity for me is to let go of some ideas and projects. I wanted a challenge but I have been beating my head against the wall for 7 months trying to get a food co-op on track and now believe that the local community would not support it enough if we ever did get it open. A co-op north of us spent 5 years raising money and organizing and then closed after 11 months of losing money (this was in Troy NY). I will give up on the co-op so that I can replace it with an urban farming project -- smaller scale and will definitely yield something.

Anyone else ready for the end of the (old) world ?
