I think we all had something like a BB gun in our lifes.
Something we really wanted.

(68,644 posts)It wasn't much of an actual killing machine, however, and I learned a REALLY important lesson:
Little sparrows are a LOT more interesting alive than dead.
THAT lesson was worth the getting of the BB gun.
Happy Season!

(18,705 posts)I did shoot a doll I received from some real meaning family member who thought I needed one.
That poor doll was made a bb gun target.
That doll was finally buried, it died a sad death.
It was blown up by way to many fire crackers, boom.

... looks like I'll miss my favorite Christmas movie this year (Ralphie's smalltown 50's
life was much like my 60's one), but I did notice that a local channel is going to be
showing "It's a Wonderful Life" in half-an-hour -- and if you hadn't prompted me to
look, I would've missed my second-favorite one this year, too.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, YOU OLD SAVINGS & LOAN!!!

I DESPERATELY wanted a BB gun when I was growing up, but MiddleFingerMomMom
truly DID believe that I'd shoot my eye out, so I never got one. Enough of my friends
had them that it wasn't a problem.

I read that it wasn't popular when it first came out.
