Dirty double-crossers

I notice, mainly in old movies, double-crossers are always depicted as 'dirty'.
"YOU DIRTY DOUBLE-CROSSER!"

It made me wonder.
Has there never been a 'clean' double-crosser?

Surely some of them have exemplary personal hygiene habits?
Or at least ONE of them?
I just wondered.
