...but at a bar I go to they have Angry Orchard hard cider on tap and offer a cinnamon/sugar dip on the rim of the glass kinda like a margarita salt dip. Pretty tasty...

I put a 1/2 gallon of apple cider and four sachets into my crock pot, set it on low and leave it over night. Next morning, ready to serve hot mulled cider.

1. Put a mug of cider in the microwave. 2. Microwave until hot. 3. Drink.

Yeah, you can spice it up, but you just asked for hot, not spiced.

I don't know how big a recipe you want, but you could double or triple this:

1 cup apple juice or cider
1 cup cranberry juice (we used to used sweetened but now I use unsweetened)
1 cup orange juice

Put in saucepan over low heat. Add 2-3 cinnamon sticks, 1 tsp whole cloves, 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg. Let simmer for 20-30 minutes. Enjoy.

I love hot beverages and was in the mood for something different today so I made some and was pleasantly surprised!

so much for letting me know! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. A friend from Kentucky gave our family the recipe years ago so maybe it is a southern recipe.

Poor apple cider into a crockpot.

Add a couple of cinnamon sticks, a few cloves, some nutmeg...a little ginger if you want it spicier. Turn it on high until it gets hot. Then turn it on low. Let it simmer for 30 minutes.

I leave it on all day, adding more cider as I ladle some out.

I'll try adding ginger next time. The hubby likes it!
