(8,976 posts)...but at a bar I go to they have Angry Orchard hard cider on tap and offer a cinnamon/sugar dip on the rim of the glass kinda like a margarita salt dip. Pretty tasty...

I put a 1/2 gallon of apple cider and four sachets into my crock pot, set it on low and leave it over night. Next morning, ready to serve hot mulled cider.

(12,008 posts)1. Put a mug of cider in the microwave. 2. Microwave until hot. 3. Drink.
Yeah, you can spice it up, but you just asked for hot, not spiced.

(3,818 posts)I don't know how big a recipe you want, but you could double or triple this:
1 cup apple juice or cider
1 cup cranberry juice (we used to used sweetened but now I use unsweetened)
1 cup orange juice
Put in saucepan over low heat. Add 2-3 cinnamon sticks, 1 tsp whole cloves, 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg. Let simmer for 20-30 minutes. Enjoy.

(3,818 posts)so much for letting me know! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. A friend from Kentucky gave our family the recipe years ago so maybe it is a southern recipe.

(46,179 posts)Poor apple cider into a crockpot.
Add a couple of cinnamon sticks, a few cloves, some nutmeg...a little ginger if you want it spicier. Turn it on high until it gets hot. Then turn it on low. Let it simmer for 30 minutes.
I leave it on all day, adding more cider as I ladle some out.
