The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsMeet Bipolar Man, the Lounge's new personal Superhero.
That's right, I'm just like Clark Kent.
I'm not a pathetic loser any more. My angst-filled, woe is me, crying days are over.
I'm the Lounge's new Superhero.
I will use all of my powers to fight for trust, justice, and the American way. Right here in the Lounge.
And hey, know this, I've always got your back!
Bipolar Man over and out.

(13,421 posts)Bipolar would have good days and bad--right? It's be really cool if you could set a schedule for your bad days so I knew when to stay out of the Lounge...

(1,014 posts)Bipolar Man just might meet The Girl!! Yes I'm a girl, love riding ATV's. the Yamaha Raptor is my fun!!! Oh Bipolar Man, let's talk!!!
Now that's interesting.
I'm not quite ready to go there, I'm still "getting my head on straight". But it won't be long ....
Superheros make the BEST boyfriends, BTW. Who else is able to catch you when you fall ....

(1,014 posts)I've been working on getting my head on straight. Lost a wonderful job of 12 yrs. low and behold, it's just down the road from me. And I helped build that store!! From the ground up. Guess couldn't deal with my being skinny after having 3 kids and friendly with everyone. Staff and customers. Just had to,hire someone that was a single gal, in her 40's, never been married, or had children.
He always hated me, as his mother loved me as her own. Now they are having massive trouble collecting from customers, that I never had a problem with.
Good luck, mother fuckers!!!
Sorry to pay that on you, I guess I needed dot let it out.
Much love!!!

(6,581 posts)It is kind of de riguer for any proper Superhero.
They should have those at Macy's, right?

(1,014 posts)Himself!!
No cape! He is the awesome!!!!!
Denninmi
(6,581 posts)And, it definitely makes a fashion statement.
Macy's must have them in menswear, right?
Denninmi
(6,581 posts)Suit, tie, and hiking boots. "Troy Style" -- where I park at Sommerset, roll down the windows, and play Irish and Korean rap really, really loud while reclining in the seat and letting my feet hang out the driver's side window.
Cue Psy and just say the word Troy every time he says "Gangnam"

(6,581 posts)I just bought a bunch of Nike ProCombat and Nike Heatgear workout clothes. Those should be about right.
Along the cape I'm going to go buy at lunch break at Macy's, of course, to complete the look.
I think I'll go for the black and safety green color scheme.
Because I'm Bipolar Man, and I've always got your back.

Oh, and since LynneSin ran off, I think you should use the stapler!
Denninmi
(6,581 posts)If someone doesn't like me for who I am, too bad.
Like Popeye says, I yam who I yam.
And I'm a pretty fantastic guy, if the truth be known.
I hold doors and pet puppies and am genuinely nice to everyone.
And no, I don't do anything particularly "weird" or "crazy".
And the only "voices in my head" I ever hear come from my Bluetooth when I'm working out and rocking to someone like U2 or Bon Jovi.
I am resolved to turn a perceived weakness into a strength.
Just consider me the Lounge's modern day Hester Prynne.
That's right, I'm bipolar, I have PTSD, and I'm just as good as everyone else.
If I'm not happy for myself, and in myself, at times, I can do something good for someone else. In that way, I serve a purpose and a higher good.
I miss LynnSin, and I shall be proud to carry on in her fine tradition of stapling anything and everything to the wall.

(29,414 posts)Bipolar Bear has sought professional help... Of a sort. In Episode 31, Minda scheduled his first appointment to see Captain Sanity of Captain Sanity's Superhero Sanitarium. Whether or not he made it to his appointment is unknown.
Bipolar Bear can also be seen running from some sort of spinning baby-doll-headed engine of destruction (And, BTW, if you have any idea what this is {it looks to say 'EAR' on the front}, email me) in the opening of Heroes.

(6,581 posts)I'm hardly a wreck any more.
I'm a hell of a lot stronger than I thought I was.
And I have no problem making up my mind. When I decide to do something, I do it.
I am Bipolar Man, and I have your back.

(29,414 posts)Give you an idea of what some of the villains are like out there
We certainly don't want someone with a chair for a face attempting to write his name on the Moon, now do we?

(6,581 posts)I seem to recall it starred Patrick Warburton (David Puddy from Seinfeld). And it didn't last very long.

(6,581 posts)I should contemplate this.
Also, frankly, I should get to work. My hour lunch has kinda stretched ....
Even Superheros can't get away from a 9-5 some times. Superheros gotta eat, too.
