(1,014 posts)I love him!! Seen Ozzy twice. Rob once. Slayer, and Godsmack when they were starting out. OzzFest of 1999. I miss those days!! Ozzy is still my fave!!!

(12,132 posts)but I loved White Zombie. There's still some good ol' days to be had though! I just saw Napalm Death last month and get to see them again in a couple months. Martin Van Drunen (Ex-Pestilence, currently in both Asphyx and Hail of Bullets) has another project called Grand Supreme Blood Court:
Shane Embury of Napalm Death is in about 700 other bands, lol, but his most recent venture outside of touring with ND is a hardcore/crossover thing called Hicks Kinnison (I am assuming named for the comedians Bill and Sam):

and there's a ton of other great metal coming out all the time. Here's another new band that I just heard about - Sulphur Aeon:
I'm looking for a USA distributor of their newest album on vinyl with the special edition artwork and stuff. Can't wait to hear it on the "good stereo" lol.

(12,132 posts)but then when she was 15 she asked me if I'd take her to Ozzfest. It was one of the happiest days of my life.
Then I found out she just wanted to see DragonForce.
but we went anyway.

(2,751 posts)Its weird watching that band destroy itself. They are monetarily set, but what about legacy?
Those first couple records sounded great for the genre. Its a bit like Eddie Van Halen on their first record. I'll never forget hearing "Eruption" for the first time

(12,008 posts)It's all been downhill for them since their first bass player died. He co-wrote a lot of their best stuff and had a big influence on their sound. They'll always have those first three albums, and they'll skate on that forever. Now they just grow their bank accounts and egos.
There are a few great bands that called it quits when things like that happened, but there are probably more that just kept on going. I mean, how many really good Black Sabbath albums are there? Three? Four?
Even look at the Rolling Stones. It's cool that they've been around for 50 years, but they haven't put out a good album in about 40 of those years.

(10,418 posts)I hope Jason has some success out on his own.

(12,008 posts)I hadn't heard about that. I still won't get it, but it's way better than Metallica, that's for sure.
