My ancestors moved to a town about 10 miles from Punxy in the mid 1830's. Three brothers, including my ggg-grandfather.

Thinking about making a very last minute, spur of the moment, spontaneous road trip for the Mrs. and I.

Never been there for Groundhog day, though when my dad was a kid, I think he may have trapped a few ground hogs!

I've only been there a couple of times in my life. No relatives there. As I said my ancestors and the few descendants left are about 10-12 miles away from Punxy.

Are you from near there?

As I understand it, all this kicks off at 3a.m. WOW!

We're a cold-hearty bunch living in Western, New York...

It looks like fun on TV. The local stations in Pittsburgh always show it. I'm not one for crowds though!

how many Punxsutawney Phils have there been since this Groundhog Day thing all started, and how do they recruit new Punxsutawney Phils to replace the ones that have kicked the bucket?

I'd be afraid of getting into an infinite space/time continuum type loop there and who'd feed the dogs back here?

I escort oversize trucks in PA (every where else too) but I don't remember
going through there with a big load hanging off my back bumper.

I usually wander my way back home. Being self employed does have it's perks.
