I haven't looked at the current sked, but one of the best concerts I ever saw there was Quincy Jones in the '70s, doing his 'Body Heat' album. A sample that is one of my all-time favorites:

I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and was hitting those joints while I was in HS. Caught The Association and We Five at the Ice House in Glendale, The Beatles at Dodger Stadium, and Ray Bradbury speaking in L.A.--all when I was a teen in the '60s.

I lived there most of my life until I moved here to the Atlanta, GA, area. My daughter lived in Hollywood for about 15 years. If you have the time, try to get down to Coconut Grove just outside of Miami. Go at nighttime though. That is when the action begins.

I love the planning and anticipation too.

Me I celebrated my 50th by taking a series of train trips from New York state to California then to Vancouver and then to Toronto and finally home.
