That day it hits you you've been out of the military longer than you were in it

I crossed that a month or so ago and didn't realize. Time to hike up my pants to my navel and complain about these kids' music. (And I actually am going to the Legion Hall tonight. Sigh.)

I had one stripers working for me who hadn't even been born when I first enlisted. "Hey Sarge, did they still have balloons in your day?"

I passed the mark about 10 years ago. (Peering thru the curtains, checking the lawn)
