...over who sounded more like Badfinger and or the Raspberries?

1. I get what you're saying, but The Raspberries were not in Badfinger's class.

The Raspberries were repetitive. Badfinger had range and ended up with more than one song that anyone can remember.

I tend to agree with you, but whether the casual Rock & Roll fan (I dont mean you) can remember a hit or not may not be the best measure of who is better.

I love 'm both- but the Raspberries are a bit more fun...Both sound killer on the orig. lp records for sure...

Emitt Rhodes I'm not familiar with. And I just figured that since you liked the Raspberries and Badfinger, you'd likely know Big Star as well. That's all.
