(961 posts)Worked at Pen Bay Medical Center for two winters. First winter, my company put me up in a house on Owls Head. The second time, in a house right on Rockland harbor. Rockland Cafe, best place for breakfast! Met a lot of great friendly people. Was thinking of moving to Maine but will probably end up back in Portland, OR.
You are sure lucky to live in Maine.

snow started here around 8 AM in the W. Mass hilltowns
Getting ready to charge up my iPod, iPad, Kindle, etc. and fill the dogs' water dispenser since we get well water here and it won't run if power goes out.
Also have to fill the tub with water to use for toilet flushing if need be.

(2,939 posts)it was a 19 car pile-up. Ouch.
Just back from the store (needed garlic. How can you cook w/o garlic?) & there's at least 1" already. All set now. Goulash about to go on, plenty of Irish for coffee, chocolate, munchies, DVD's, a new project to start & a new journal to write in. I don't think I will have enough time to all I want to do!

(59,440 posts)Hilarious! I love it when you ask a 60-ish year old cashier in the supermarket if they're ready for the storm and they roll their eyes.
