So, weekend plans?

I do - going out tonight with a buddy to dinner.

Saturday, going to go play in the winter wonderland, going to rack the Surly and the skis and head out to one of the Metroparks and hit the trails.

Sunday AM, training session, then time to do some housework, cooking, and probably start the family 1040's.

Have you ever made them with dried tart cherries instead of raisins? Those are a big thing in NW Michigan, the "Tart Cherry Capital". Pretty tasty.

Usually in a Mylar or plastic ziplock type bag, although local stores here carry them in a 5 or 10 lb box, too.

They are great in chocolate chip cookies, too.

Other than that, it's all open. I just got into House of Cards, a new political series starrring Kevin Spacey, so I'm sure I'll be watching more of those episodes.

My plans...

Tonight = Work out for about an hour and a half. I am doing Les Mills Body Combat. If I feel energetic, I'll watch a movie after.
Tomorrow = Work meeting in the morning. Work out in the afternoon. Social Painting meet up in the evening.
Sunday = Lunch with my sister, niece and nephew.

I joined a painting Meetup and they have an event which involves painting and wine.
So, I messed around with my schedule and was able to find time at the evening to do that.

I haven't painted in years, so this should be good.

Does the choice of wine influence the choice of subject matter or style?

For example, does a nice Zinfandel just scream "still life" while a Syrah says "abstract"?

See? I just signed up for it because I saw it.
I haven't painted in YEARS! I actually did a quick sketch of my niece last weekend, which I haven't done in a long time either. I've decided, that I have lost a lot of skill(not that I have much of it).

So, I thought joining a painting group could get me started up a bit.

Well, my other reason for doing it is because my best friend wanted a painting from me. I asked her what she wanted from me for V-Day, so, I thought, "cool, two birds with one stone."

I can't say it is my style, but oh well.

My movie buddy is bring DVDs over tonight. We'll watch them on the new 60" flatscreen my daughter bought. Tomorrow my movie buddy and I will take the bus to the city for lunch and a movie. We do this nearly every weekend. It's nice to have a buddy who likes movies as much as I do and furthermore, likes the KIND of movies I like. Sunday I'll putter around on the 'puter for a while and then do some craft project while waiting for Downton Abbey to come on.
