(6,336 posts)My next 4 kittehs are already named. I travel all the time for work, and the kitties will be named after various cities I've worked in. Lexie (Lexington, KY), Packer (Green Bay, WI), Nucky (Atlantic City, NJ), and Abby or Radford (Abingdon, VA, Radford, VA).

(2,102 posts)Maine coons are most likely descended from Norwegian Forest Cats, and Norway had many kings named Magnus, so that's my vote. It's also a strong, big sounding name.

(9,230 posts)Welcome to the forum!
He shall be so named;
Raphael (the healer!) Magnus
Thank you all! I really appreciate it. All the other animals I have ever had were named in minutes, but this has been two days.
We searched cities in Maine, France (where the Maine Coons allegedly came to NA)
French names, Italian names, (bingo!) and now your name.

(17,621 posts)I love Maine Coons. But it will take a while for him to look like that. Maine Coons can take up to four years to reach full adult size.

(50,563 posts)Maine Coons are large enough to shake the ground when they walk, so name him after the inventor of the Richter Scale.
