(12,167 posts)Experimenting with many different teas satisfies curiosity and produces some mood enhancement (though less dramatic than alcohol, of course).

I was used to drinking Scotch on the rocks with seltzer water & a tiny splash of Rose's Lime Juice
as a chaser. I cut out the Scotch and simply drank the chaser and it did me quite well. No one even
knew that I wasn't drinking alcohol.

Rose's Lime Juice is fairly expensive. You can probably find it with other mixers like tonic water and
Mrs. T's Bloody Mary Mix. It's about $6-7 for a 16-20 oz bottle, but when you just put in a splash
(maybe a 1/4 oz, if that much), it lasts a long, long time.

It's pretty tasty and VERY thirst-quenching and very low-cal.

Most bartenders have lost the art of what "just a splash" means.

(29,710 posts)is that a word?? My husband and I were out for our St. Valentine's Day dinner and I asked our waiter for this drink.....it came and it was so delicious and refreshing that the next one I ordered I requested an olive with it. Thank you so much for this drink suggestion.

(31,405 posts)Mojito, Margarita, Appletini. Personally, I like the Mojito the best--
especially with some extra lime in it.
There is also a zero calorie flavored sparkling water called ICE--
lots of different flavors--my favorites are black raspberry and coconut
pineapple.
Both products are in the beverage/soda aisle in my grocery store.
I also like diet tonic water with lime and diet ginger ale with a splash
of cranberry juice.

(29,710 posts)and I'm doing great, no shakes, no withdrawal symptoms. All suggestions, tea, seltzer with lime juice, seltzer with cranberry juice, and non-alcoholic beer have been doing the trick. Going to pick up the Crystal Light mocktails when shopping on Tuesday, looking forward to the Mojito as mnhtnbb suggested. I thought I'd be terribly nervous without my normal "drinks" but surprised how well I'm doing. Another big test will come tomorrow, my monthly "margarita lunch group" lunch, but will order the virgin-rita for that. Keeping fingers crossed. Thanks again for all the suggestions.
