My penpal in Tokyo turned me onto them in the 80s...still love them even though their sound is a little dated.

They sang in Japanese but this song has a little English...including an announcement of John Lennon's death in the middle.

Icelandic

I love them. Very dream-like atmosperic....kind of ethereal feeling, guess that's the best I can do to describe their sound

Another one I absolutely love-- Segu Blue. From Mali, I think. Some others in the same tradition too but I can't remember their names. Don't have iTunes in front of me.

I have a bunch of world music. Can't remember it all...and I'm in bed now with my mobile
