I've never seen one here. They hang around the Great Lakes shoreline at times. Of course, it left in the two minutes it took me to find my camera.

(998 posts)Many moons ago, taking a drive up the Great River Road in Illinois, during the winter, I looked over and saw dozens, yes dozens of Eagles on an ice floe. Catching fish and doing what Eagles do.
After reading more about Eagles subsequent to that observation, I have come to realize what a rare event that was. That really was some kind of wonderful!
By the way....Hi Neighbor!

(14,881 posts)Looking out the little window. A bald eagle swooped low over the roof, no more than 10' away. I could see each feather delineated...very cool.
We have many here on the coast of Maine. When I was building my barn, one night 3 pairs of hawks and 1 pair of eagles appeared, circling low overhead for several minutes. Then they peeled off in each of the 4 cardinal directions. Very cool...I thought it was a good omen.
