Dating site offers town $11M to change its name

http://www.cnbc.com/id/100512103

A dating website matching wealthy older men to attractive young women has picked an odd target for a publicity stunt.

SugarDaddie.com is offering the town of Woodside, Calif. $11.65 million to change its name to "SugarDaddie.com, USA" for ten years.

Chump change. Wrong target. Very funny.

Woodside is home to some of the richest tech titans in America, like Oracle CEO Larry Ellison. However, it's hardly a haven for the bimbo set. Gold diggers usually circle their prey further south in SoCal, where silicone is more prevalent than silicon.

Maybe they could take their act to East Palo Alto, a few miles away. They could actually use $11 million.

Woodside and its uber-wealthy environs may well be the NIMBY capital of America.
