In this world you need every human on your side that you can get, strength in numbers. He could have been another gun for their defense. But then there is the risk that they can act irrational and be a danger to the group. It did seem callous. I think he just didn't want to take the risk.

They just made that comment on Talking Dead. If that's the case, does that mean we've seen the last of Morgan?

Oh, and another plot loose string. If Morgan feels like it's his job to clean the town of zombies, why did he leave that diner with zombie customers.

Kinda the sign of the times that they got the backpack. A little gallows humor.

I think the trip also allowed for the bonding between Michonne and Rick as well.

I think Rick respects Carl's opinion. From the moment he talked with Carl that day in the barn loft. Telling him they would all die and he might have to shoot his parents. It crushed Rick to tell him that. He had to tell him because of the situation they were in...it was the dutiful thing to do. Still crushed Rick to do it.

When Lori died and Rick understood it was Carl who shot her - it wasn't just Lori's death or Rick's cold shoulder to her prior....it was Carl's role as well. (that sent Rick over) That his child had to do those things to survive. His mind went to a darker place and collided with the Rick self that had to kill Shane...even wanted to kill Shane. And all that collided with the real Rick. The one who is thoughtful and caring and wants to save everyone. The "good guy".

Seeing Lori is a reminder of who Rick really is...she doesn't look angry at him. She smiles at him. She's glad to see him. Rick woke up from his coma looking for people. He needed help. He needed others. He killed the bike lady out of mercy. He was Rick.

What Rick forgot, and why he was seeing Lori, I think, was a reminder of something he was forgetting - you can't do this alone. It's not one man doing it all. It's not just survival....but how you survive.

Carl wanted that photo for Judith - a connection. A family. Message is you're not alone. This is who you are, who we are, and you're one of us.

Michonne got that cat. A talisman of a life that is gone but not forgotten. Never forgotten.

I think "Clear" was helping to drive that point home. They're in this together and how they survive matters.

the Talking Dead was good for a change - showed all the pulleys and cables strung overhead with the little chair lifts running from the tower in the street to the building tops, and the color coded ladders for excape routes - details you couldn't see very well in the show - that was cool

I would have loaded up a line of shopping carts full of Morgan's stash though, they left him with way too many guns- grenades, I think I saw some LAWS rockets too - yeah - we're about to have a WAR here people, stock up

Rick did get a hunting knife plunged into his chest but they just moved that little blood spot over to his shoulder....just a scratch

the one that Rick woke up from at the very beginning of the show. I raised this in another thread. Right outside the hospital was a small, abandonded military encampment with a boat load of boxes. Rick should've said something once he got to Camp dinnerbell and gone to check what was left. I betcha that Morgan found it and that's where he got all those weapons.

he had just woken up from a coma and had stumbled, in a daze, through the hospital. He had to think it was a dream or hallucenation or something, at least until that walker fell on top of him.

So, I can give him a pass for not remembering the military equipment there.
