I think it's pretty much a given that they've mortgaged their mentalities to Satan, and are saving their brains for a special occasion (and this week and next ain't it).

so, it also depends on what they're discussing.

the main character in the book (which features slow moving zombies like Night of the Living Dead or Walking Dead) is a UN obersver who goes around the world interviewing people post World War Z and the timeline of the interviews reconstructs the events throughout the war. The funny part is that America (under a thinly disguised Colin Powell as president and Howard Dean for VP) kind of rallies the world to fight back against the zombies, rather than just retreating and waiting for them to die out.

No idea about Pitt's character in the movie, but they have fast moving zombies in it.

I think it's a combination of movie and book, since they can't possibly have an advanced script of the movie.
