Apology: the 'All-new Calvin and Hobbes funnies' post got, well... I dunno...

Last edited Mon Mar 11, 2013, 12:05 AM - Edit history (3)

A few hours ago some of you read a cryptic post from me about Calvin and Hobbes. I should clarify: it was a joke based on a parody I saw online.

The original post:

Whoa. I just found out all-new Calvin and Hobbes funnies are running on Sundays

But I think it was a mistake to age the characters...

What the hell happened? Well, ya see that little red dot? There was sposed to be a picture there. Apparently the lawyers for Bill Watterson, creator and executioner of Calvin and Hobbes, act fast. Really really fast. The post I hotlinked to was put up yesterday on The Meta Picture.com and was taken down within minutes of me posting it here on DU. There's nothing to see there now, but here's the link to the post that used to contain this image ==> http://themetapicture.com/calvin-grows-up/

With a little googling around, I found the image that I posted. It's below, the second from the bottom on the left, if it appears below. But you'll have to look quickly, because I suspect the lawyers for Watterson will be cease-and-desisting the picture below in short order too. Again, I'm sorry for making any of you think, even for a second, either (a) that a real Calvin and Hobbes cartoon was appearing or (b) that I would have posted anything with a sincere intent in the Lounge. If you immediately ran over to steal your neighbor's Sunday paper based on my post, only to find you stole it for a comic that wasn't even in there, I am also sorry, but it was about time you got up off your butt and got some exercise.

Regards,

Details? We've always thought of Jeremy in "Zits" as what Calvin would be at 16. talkingmime Mar 2013 #1

When does he get all the payback due him? Karma dictates that he has to have a little boy to show him what his parents had to put up with! Harrrumph.

Not that a little girl, especially Calvin's, isn't likely to follow in her dad's footsteps... although that particular little girl looks an awful lot like Suzy... I suppose that may be the point, he married her? Awww...
