(66,406 posts)19. I just did a surgical excision of a BB from a patient's scalp.
It had been in there for years. I could have left it, no problem. But he needs an MRI, and it's best not to have any metal in your head when you're getting one. So I excised it. Took a while; it was pretty well encapsulated. But I got it. Three sutures and some pain meds and he's good to go.
