dumbfounded

On facebook, I posted a brief tribute to my two older sisters for mothers day. My younger half-sister, whom I haven't seen or spoken to in twenty years -- and glad of it -- commented on that post, saying "Thanx, Kim!"

Excuse me? Was I talking to you? When I wrote about the three beautiful children my sisters raised, how could you think that you, who have five children, are included?!

You may think me harsh. Don't. You don't know what's there.

Mostly I feel like an idiot for posting something that she'd jump into like that. But how could I know she would? When I speak of my sisters, I am never speaking of my half-sister. She is not a part of my life and never will be. I don't even know why I added her as a friend.

Is it possible to erase a facebook status post?

I would also unfriend her. That would be the simplest way to avoid her talking to you.

I know you to be a fair person. So if you say you're not being harsh, I believe you...

or maybe even just delete your half-sisters comment and leave the rest of the comments intact.

But I would see this as an attempt to patch things up and an expression of regret for the rift between you by someone who finds it difficult to express those kinds of feelings. It doesn't sound hostile, though possibly self-centred.

But I could be entirely wrong and it's totally up to you in any case.

Toxic to say the least. I'm very glad she doesn't want to be around me either. She's one of those who probably loves Sarah Palin and she's a born again Christian who wants me to go the deepest recesses of Hell. She wrote me a letter once describing in great detail what was going to happen to me in Hell. It was pretty obvious she relished the thought. She epitomizes the hateful Christians. The last time I talked to her she was claiming that God hates gays and she was spewing so much hate that I hung up on her. We haven't talked since. I wrote her once to let her know our mother had died.

How some we want nothing to do with keep popping back into our lives with all the social networking that goes on today.
I believe the individual who said unfriend them is the way to go.
