Commercial on language-learning program ... a note

I just heard a commercial for a software package for learning a new language, and it struck me.

It promises that you will learn a new language in the same way you learned your first language ...

and I thought ... "Gee, it probably took me at least 3 years to start sounding like I was saying what I wanted to say!"

I hope that I would pick up on it more quickly than I learned "English" as a child ...
