I adopted a kitty today.

And she has adjusted in record time. Within a half an hour of arriving in her new home and putting her in my kid's room, she was zooming around playing. An hour later she was on his bed. Not long after, she was on his chest.

I fully intended to keep her in the room for several days, but we let her out of the room by late afternoon. She wandered down to the kitchen to say hi and checked out every room. She kept going back up to her safe room and then would run back down to say hi again. After dinner, the kids and I sat up in the den on the couch and she snuggled between the youngest and me, but would go knead on the oldest now and then. Very happy 1 year old calico.

She still has to get used to the idea that she shares the house with another kitty, but at this rate that may be as early as tomorrow evening!

Still shaved from where they spayed her. She was listed as a tortoise/calico.

I love the calico/tortoises! That's what my Belladonna is. (Or at least, how I remember her. I haven't seen her in weeks, although I know she's around by the disappearing food)

Good idea to keep it in a kid's room, especially if there's another cat. The best friend I ever had was a cat I got as an early teenager. He stayed in my room at first when there was another cat in the house. He was my best friend for the next x-teen years.
