for a place that had oven baked subs - it was basically pizza dough with cheese and meat inside. We had ham and cheese, pizza, italian, etc...the pizza one was just pepperoni and cheese and pizza sauce (not all subs had sauce) so since I was kind of a smart-ass I began calling any pepperoni pizza an open-faced pizza sub.

I guess it was funnier when we were all high.
