Me too, loved her movies. When pregnant with me, my mother had the same OB/GYN as Esther.

Esther Williams was training to compete with the U. S. Olympic swimming team in 1940. First a boycott of the original site, Tokyo, moved the games to Helsinki, Finland. Then the outbreak of WWII canceled them completely.
Even without the fame that the Olympics would have brought her, Williams still made it to Hollywood and a great movie career.
