What are the Patriots going to do with Tim Tebow?

My first inclination is they'll waive the bastard before the regular season starts. Especially if Tebow's fans start demanding he be made starting quarterback.

Other than that...tight end?

Too bad he can neither block nor catch the football. (Edited to add evidence courtesy trumad's post in Sports)

Maybe he can hold for field goals and extra points. Otherwise you're probably right - the Patriots usually keep just 2 QBs and Tebow is #3.

That's just the kind of thing Belichick might do, like going for it on fourth and short.

flea-flicker 22 yd. pass completion to Brady running a circle route.

Even if it's not the best play of the season...it'll be the most memorable.

Most NFL teams use a wide receiver as the opposing quarterback to practice against this relatively new offensive scheme. But since Tebow is a (somewhat) real QB, and is adept at the read-option, he will provide value to the team as a good practice QB.

And will Tebow's rabid fans allow the Patriots to keep him on the practice squad?

And the Pats have a solid enough fan base that they don't need to worry about appeasing Tebow fans.

But this is how, in my opinion, he'd bring value to the team. To help the Pats defense practice against a legitimate read-option QB to be a step ahead for the new generation of QBs coming into the system - the RG3, Kaepernick, Russel Wilsons, etc.

make assessments during training camp to see where he would best be utilized, even if it's not the QB position.

Short yardage ball carrier maybe?

Blocking?

I was going to say that I can't believe his rabid fans would demand he be the starting QB ahead of Brady, but I forget how irrational rabid fans can be.
