Summer cold. God, I feel like shit.

I was sneezing all day yesterday, and I've been coughing all day today. I slept until noon. After I got up, I had to do yard work in 90° heat to get ready for tomorrow & almost passed out from heat exhaustion. After a long cool shower & a couple big glasses of iced tea, I'm not totally miserable right now.

I called my sister the nurse to commiserate & get some sympathy from her. This was a mistake. She's been doing the nursing thing for about 20 yrs & has the bedside manner of Nurse Ratchet (in a good, though. Really). And she said, "Yeah, that's been going around. Half the people on my floor were coughing & sneezing too. Legionnaires' Disease is coming back too."

Gee thanks, sis. Way to make me feel better.

A summer cold is a different animal! An ugly animal--ooo!
It hits you in the stomach, and you don't know what to doooooooooo!

Had a guy in a Sid / Marty Croft type animal costume running across a field. Too bad I can't find the video of it.

Hell, I could use some of that right now. I know it wouldn't really help, but it would put me in a happy place & zonk me out so I wouldn't care.

Back then it was pseudo-ephedrine gelatin capsules filled with mini-pills. Their big advertising shtick was "Tiny Time Pills". After the Tylenol scare Contac became hard caplets like most everyone else.
