Its been wet here in New York this summer. Real wet.
As a result the mosquito problem is making even daytime outdoor activity unbearable.
Looking for some suggestions on what works in the mosquito repellent department for an outdoor event we are hosting at our place tomorrow night...
...any suggestions?
Thanks

5.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT PUT ON KNOB AND BOLLOCKS, 24 Jan 2012
By Andrew - See all my reviews
This review is from: Veet for Men Hair Removal Gel Creme 200 ml (Personal Care)
Being a loose cannon who does not play by the rules the first thing I did was ignore the warning and smear this all over my knob and bollocks. The bollocks I knew and loved are gone now. In their place is a maroon coloured bag of agony which sends stabs of pain up my body every time it grazes against my thigh or an article of clothing. I am suffering so that you don't have to. Heed my lesson. DO NOT PUT ON KNOB AND BOLLOCKS.
(I am giving this product a 5 because despite the fact that I think my bollocks might fall off, they are now completely hairless.)

(17,671 posts)Properly applied they might not be able to catch you to bite you. And if they do catch you, they might not be able to hang on.

(22,756 posts)works GREAT!!!... I've been working in the woods everyday for the past 2 weeks and as soon as I smear my body with the stuff... the bugs (especially mosquitos) all take a hike
Base ingredients: coconut oil and beeswax
Natural Oils:
catnip (best stuff ever to repel bugs)
geranium
neem
lemon eucalyptus

I have what I call "greaser shorts"
My body don't like chemicals on it - yep, deet works pretty good, but not as well as baby oil.
Ur all greasy - don't sit on any favorite furniture - but even wasps, deerflies, blackflies - you name it, the whole gang will never bite you.
And your skin will thank you for using baby oil instead of some chemical.
And don't touch your vehicle - you'll have one really nice shiny spot on it.
There are those electrical Zappers, as well as citronella candles.
And ponder this - if everyone is covered in baby oil - the possibilities are endless.

I rarely use soap or shampoo - bugs love fragrances.
Deodorant, aftershave, cologne - ur gonna be a bug magnet.
Learned that decades ago - wash my hair in shampoo?
Bugs just loved me after that.
So I scrub 3 or more times with just water - takes much more time, but gets the job done.
And the bugs leave me alone -
I love my outside time,
without the bugs.

We've had almost no skeeters at all this year in the Rheinland (too cold), but will be heading for the States next week--east coast USA. Battle Stations!
