I used to be a big Pov-Ray user which is a ray tracer that uses a scene description language to build scenes, sort of like "programming" your pictures. I did a bunch of art year back with that. I should get back to that stuff!

Poser- for the figures
Bryce- for the objects and layouts
Photoshop- to do all the rest

Bryce's photo-realistic rendering is similar to Pov-Ray.
