I love Autumn weather the most. I like the wind and the rain, and it reminds me of election season. My asthma is usually not so bad during this season. Although by November I have a runny nose that will not stop.

(18,482 posts)Not Autumn, not Winter. Crisp enough that the leaves are gone. There's Thanksgiving and the start of the holiday season. I know it's still technically Autumn but it seems so different than mid October.

(4,243 posts)I would rather be sweating my ass off in 100 degree temperatures all summer long than have to endure 1 day of -0 temperatures in the winter. Spring and fall are ok, but I like summer best.
many a good man
(5,997 posts)100+ degrees apparent temperature is still better than sub zero. Spring and Fall are excellent but nothing rocks like summertime!
On the medicine wheel, summer is the time of full flowering of one's youth before the prime of middle age and wisdom; both highly overrated!

(2,214 posts)When I was a little kid in Maine, spring was best after the very long winter. Now that the weather is all fubar, I just like summer, even though I'm missing this one completely due to working a ton of OT. Oh well!
Used to like fall way back when...

(2,584 posts)Not too hot...not too cold. Day and night balanced.
I love the brilliant greens of early spring. The seem to glow from within. Bright flowers. Early spring is the best...before the bugs really get going.
I also love fall, especially after the doozer hot days finally cool down. Brilliant fall leaves, crisp mornings, all the yummy foods of Harvest time, and Halloween.
Summer is too hot. I haven't been able to afford to go to the mountains for swimming and picnics, nor to the coast for the wonderful coolness and salty air in too many years. Working on hot Summer days is NOT fun.
Winter isn't too bad. It is cloudy often here. I like the rain (air smells so fresh), and I also like the winter storms (as long as I am somewhere safe). My only problem with winter: too much to do, and not enough time to rest. I wish we could spread the Holidays out more...or something.

Late August and September are the best up here imo.
Even October.
Bugs are all gone, trees turning colors, warm days, cool nights
and no snow to shovel/plow!
Can't take the heat/sun like I used to - so between the heat/sun/bugs I've been spending way much more time inside than I'd like to.
I do like winter once it's settled in and got my warm clothes regimen figured out.
and Winter is pretty - covers up all the imperfections with a nice white blanket as well as decorating the trees.
Spring? - nope - mushy, dirty roadsides from winter sanding, and of course my own junk appearing from under the snow that I neglected to store out of sight.
Sometimes winter just dumps a big one without warning, and stays -
Gee - I wonder where the term "Spring Cleanup" came from . .

(6,154 posts)should be forced to endure an Ontario Summer without any AC in a small shack. I know most don't actually think it's a cold wasteland all the time here, but I've met a few who did think so.

(6,154 posts)One of the loveliest places in the world come late spring and summer IMHO, but late fall and winter is overcast almost every day.

(6,154 posts)Again the summers and late spring are heavenly. It's a beautiful city with endless variety, a big liberal heart and wonderful scenery. But yes late fall and winter and be a drag. There's always some reprieve from the cloud and rain but it always feels short lived. It's not unusual to have 2 weeks straight of overcast, and sometimes longer. I believe many here suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) as a result. At least for some of the year.

(21,925 posts)The sweet melancholy of it, the overcast weather, the growing chill in the air, the leaves turning red and brown, the flocks of birds flying overhead, the haystacks in the fields, the smell of wood burning in fireplaces, the sudden downpours, have always given me a wonderful feeling. I guess I'm a romantic. No other piece of music has captured the gloriously sad mood of autumn for me like the classical piece titled Autumn by composer Cecile Chaminade.

(65,180 posts)Winter - too many viruses out there; not a big cold weather fan. Do like snow though
Spring - nice because it has my birthday and mild days
Summer - my least favorite season - I hate the heat and humidity. Too many insects.
Fall - my favorite season. Football, nice temps, looking forward to the holidays, and colorful trees

(4,851 posts)Winter brings with it the joy of snow and the work it takes to keep it clear from the driveway/walkway as well as the exciting fun of keeping it off the roof. Then there is the fun of keeping the woodstove stocked (way cheaper than oil, renewable, but it is a lot of work). The fun of keepign the ice clear and then there is the spending of the holiday season. So I truly dislike Winter.
Spring is more housework with the lawn mowing and the fighting the non-native plants that try to invade every year. Plus it seems to get shorter each year. We have longer winters and then early summers.
Summer is just too dang hot here. Its terrible. I hate the humidity and heat that comes with July and August. June is usually pleasant enough.
Autumn, I love thee. I love the trees turning, I love the cooler weather. college football returns, and Halloween and the fun of fear on TV and in theaters is there. I just love autumn.

Summer,
Winter,
Spring,
Autumn.
Summer is the time of warmth and sun. Winter is proper cold (well some of the time). Spring means that summer's on its way. Autumn is the season of death - leaves turning brown, flowers vanishing...
