I wanted to stroll the Venice Beach boardwalk too, but the traffic/distance/time thing was working against us.

Wish I could have joined you two, but as you know, I'm out of town with my family this weekend.

Looks like you hit some good spots!

Is that your favorite Mexican restaurant, Denbot?

Have you been on your sailboat lately?
We've been watching the Louis Vuitton races in the San Francisco Bay on the internet, leading up to the America's Cup in September.
If you haven't watched it you should- you'll be amazed at how fast they go!

Good yelp reviews, and cheap prices. I should have taken Buckey to the somewhat nearby El Tepeyac in East Los Angeles. D'ho!

http://manuelseltepeyac.com/

My grandparents (both sides) ate there during and after WWII, my parents would go on dates there in the 50's, and now me Alley and the kids love the place. Damn, I don't know why I did not think of it.

As for our boat we are in a holding pattern. The down turn really put a hurt on us (actually me, Alley is a career Federal law enforcement type), and now we are just getting our heads above water so we will start pouring cash into it and get back on to the water.. I really need to buy one of those lotto tickets some day.

I'll check the racing highlight on YouTube.

Not only are you now one of the few people that know L.A. has a subway, you are one of the even fewer that have ridden on it.

Now, are we younger as a whole, or more impressively as a combined, cumulative age?

Phillipe's best kept secret is their lemonade, even if they serve it in those tiny glasses.

The dominant factor in our itenerary was time. I scooped him up at the bus station, then in a few blocks, parked across from Union Station. From there we could walk across to Olvera St., and dine in L.A.'s 300 year old section. From ther, it was a short walk back across the street to Union Station (a building I find to be beautiful) to take L.A.'s very modern subway to Hollywood and back with enough time to return Bucky to his bus before he turned in to a pumpkin, or what ever is the consequence of being late for your outbound grey-doggie.

There are many things that can be done in L.A., but to do them you have to be willing to sacrifice portions of your life's timeline to the traffic gods, we were willing, but time was short.
