I love looking back into the history of real people. The photos are talking to us from the past in a way. Whether you are related or not, it's the history of us all.

I have also started a family photo scanning project but most of the photos I have are no where near as historically interesting as these. Thanks for posting these. I love the look into a slice of REAL Inuit culture here.

Have you tried getting in touch with any of the elders from Nome and Wales? They might be able to help with some of those.

If you have more please post them.

you have some beautiful and historic photos from your wife's family. I think you should digitize them all and send them to whatever historical society there is in Alaska. Also send them to whatever Inuit association or historical society there might be.

I have so much respect for the Alaska Native cultures. I have only been in Alaska since 1975. I feel like a cheechako.
