(6,154 posts)I don't tend to like most popular pop stars but Katy Perry is a bit of an exception, she has a genuinely good voice and while I agree with bigwillq that her stuff is still rather cheesy I don't mind it. I suppose it doesn't hurt that she's sexy as hell

(4,299 posts)Your doves (including the babies) are awesome. The video was interesting, I agree with Locut0s, Katy Perry is an exception to the usual insipid pop princesses. Thanks for posting, otherwise I would never have watched.

Autumn
(45,107 posts)mine are the worst parents in the world. An egg hatches and as soon as it get a few pin feathers they ignore it. I managed to save one but it died at 3 months old.

(72,300 posts)I can still recognize our newest one, he is dark brown. The rest of the flock is gray.
There are several new eggs every week but only one hatched in over a year.

(45,107 posts)and then the darn thing died on me when it was about 3 months old. I don't think I would want to do it again, it was difficult. But the silly parents are now getting off the nest just a day or two before they are ready to hatch. They are crazy delightful birds though.

(72,300 posts)I've lost 3 of my doves since we moved last year.
One was Stevie, the mother of my flock. She quit laying eggs for a few months after Super Storm Sandy rolled through. She never hatched another one. I think she was old when I brought her home.
As for the other two, nothing seemed wrong.
I remove the eggs that are abandoned after a two or three days. Maybe my flock isn't meant to be over a dozen.
I really do enjoy having 'em. I'm really glad the flock isn't growing as I hate the idea of giving away the offspring as I did in the beginning. Family is family. I worry about them. Call me the crazy featherhead.
