How I got a new toilet for my birthday.

My daughter lives 1500 miles from us.
When my birthday rolls around she asks Miz t. what I want for my birthday.
(Miz t. will select it and my daughter will pay for it.)
Then Miz t. asks me.
And I never know.
I'm 72, and at this time in life there's not much of anything that I 'need', or even just want.

This time was a little different.
I had just installed a new filler valve in an ailing toilet.
While bolting the tank back onto the bowl I went a 'leeetle' too tight with the wrench and heard a 'crack'.
Busted the porcelain.
I had just garbaged the toilet.

Then I had a bright idea.
"What I REALLY need, and want, for my birthday is a new toilet."

And that's just what I got.
Thank you my darling daughter.

5 years ago I broke my hip at the age of 51. For my 52nd birthday my mom bought me a higher toilet (17&quot . It has been a god send over the past few years. Really helpful after my knee replacement.

Thanks Mom.

How often can we really say that about birthday presents? Great present, congrats.

What kind did you get?

I had a Toto Drake installed a couple of months ago, and the water bill is MUCH lower now.
