I as sitting here waiting for all that my dear friend at the nursing home as passed.

She went on hospice and the time is coming fast.

I did visit her today but she was sleeping.

Her family is there now.

I will miss her.

I am glad she know nothing of government shut down.

It is hard making friends in a nursing home, but worth it.

She was a vet in WW2.

Her family didn't want her to go in but there were no boys in her family.

She felt like she had to go.

She landed in Europe in 1944, a month after D day.

She told me only a few women were there at that time.

She knew German so she was needed to speak to German POW's.

My friend had so many stories to tell of her days in the Army.

I am glad she does't know about what is going on in Washington.

I miss her already.

Her name was Sally Joe, named after a uncle killed in WWI.

Sally Joe was life long democrat, voted for FDR as her first vote.

Have a good journey Sally Joe.

Thank you for being my friend.

I forgot the purple heart she won for being wounded.

She was really important work talking to the pow's and reading documents that were found.

Women vets in WW2 did there part also.

She said the pow's would tell her stuff they wouldn't tell another man.

She was pretty also, that didn't hurt.

Sally Joe was tough, had to learn to protect herself.

She packed a 45 with her at all times.

She had stories about Paris when the American troops went in.

Sally Joe went everywheres across Europe.

What a woman.

Sally Joe and I became great friends.

I would take her out and we would drive around the hill country for a day.

She was a blast to be around.

Germans and Czechs settled the Texas hill country.

She could speak both German and Czech.

Her father was German descent, her mother of Czech descent.

Sally Joe wanted to serve her country and she did.

She stayed in the army for almost 10 years.

She was stationed in Germany after the war doing important work.

Sally Joe met her husband in the Army and they were married.

She had 5 kids and lots grandchildren, and greatgrand children.

Sally Joe as a proud Democrat.

She reminds me of Anne Richards.

Sally Joe has cancer so she was ready to go.

It is hard to let go sometimes.

She did her duty well.

Sally Joe would be as mad as hell about what is happening in Washington.

I was greatly helped in recent grievings by Elizabeth Kubler Roth's last book "On Grief and Grieving"

Grief is a biological process, as uncontrollable as puberty. Be good to yourself.

Sally Joe passed in her sleep early the next morning.

She had her military funeral she wanted so much.

I have one of the shells, I will treasure it.

She was one of a kind.

She was just turned 95.
