Second leg surgery this afternoon. Updated.

Last edited Tue Oct 8, 2013, 02:28 AM - Edit history (1)

I am declining the "twilight" knockout in favor of just the local. It should be smooth sailing, this leg isn't as bad as the first one.

Wish me luck. Thanks!

Will check in after it's all done, it takes a few hours, leaving now to go home and get ready.

UPDATE: it went really well medically - the veins were less branched and twisted than the first leg, so the cardiologist had an easier time getting the catheter up into it. He went the entire distance from groin to ankle and fried a lot of feet of vein.

Alas, the saphenous veins were deeper in this leg, which meant more tissue to get through when injecting the lidocaine/saline solution, so it hurt like a mofo. I just gritted my teeth and held on to the blanket and squeezed.

This one hurt more as the lidocaine wore off, kind of throbs but I took Aleeve and it eased off. I went to bed with my leg propped up clothes and all when I got home, still there and uncomfortable but I just don't have the energy to move. Gonna work tomorrow anyway, no big deal.

BIG THANKS TO ALL - I can always count on you for support.

We Liberals are the best, I bet I wouldn't find such love and understanding of my problems over in the dark parallel universe known as Teahadistan.

I hope it takes care of whatever the problem is, and that you heal swiftly and with minimal pain...

Hell, I request extra because I don't want to wake up while they're still working on me.

My anesthesiology bill from my 3 hour shoulder surgery was more than the orthopedists bill. I happily agreed to pay it.

Good luck on your procedure

Glad it went well. You're a better man than I... I go for at LEAST the twilight stuff
any time I can get it. You feel the pain, but you have no recollection of it whatever,
so it really didn't happen.

That wasn't such a good idea. Never again, so I guess I don't qualify for Tea Party membership. (Thank God!)

The doc said I was "one tough guy". For someone as messed up as I am, I'm one bad motherfucker!
