If I can smack without feeling rude, I guess I would eat the caramel, but if I was concerned about etiquette, I would suck on the butterscotch.

I prefer good caramel, but if the choice is those kraft squares or average butterscotch hard candy, I'll go with the latter.

Its harder to find Butterscotch other than in hard candy forms...one would guess.
