my son in Oregon wants me to make him a Robin Hood costume for Halloween (I am a seamster and the kids often ask and I am more than happy to oblige)... He is giving me free rein in style...

What is your Robin Hood look??

Kevin Costner's Robin Hood outfit is pretty intense... I like the hooded look but the one thing my son did say he wanted was the funky hat

it's not about the colors, it's about the style. So for a kid, I'd pick Kevin Costners chivalry version mixed with the sweetness of the Disney fox .

That's just me. Green hat, brown vest, and he has to have a sword at his waist, too.

my son is 24 and while he about the sweetest kid you'd ever meet... he likes to pretend he's all grown up (he's my baby)

I think he probably likes to think of himself as chivalrous but the costume is for a rock concert he's going to... but I think you might have it right!

a costume I made for him a few yeas ago... Captain Planet

And I think mix of two and six would make him look fantastic

And he needs a sword at his waist, too.

And for heaven's sake, PLEASE post pics of him in whatever gorgeous creation you come up with!

Oh, and hats go a long way with supporting a look. He needs a hat.

Maybe Peter Pan decided to grow up and become Robin Hood, still living in the same forest, with the Lost Boys becoming the Merry Men.

Actually when I was a little kid in the 1950s, there was a popular series on TV, The Adventures Of Robin Hood. I believe the cast was all English and all stage actors so the acting was really good. Richard Greene played Robin Hood and he usually didn't wear the stereotypical outfit. He wore kind of typical Elizabethan period clothes and you wouldn't know he was supposed to be Robin Hood without being familiar with the long-running series.

the Errol Flynn look is classic.

Are you sure he wouldn't rather be one of the Merry Men?
