talented and everything to be admired in a celebrity, even as he had his own alcohol and depression demons. Nearly every year, I take a long drive into the Rockies and have his music as the soundtrack to a wonderfully meditative trip.

I was kinda uncool anyway ... I mean I even dug bubblegum music - So what did I know?

I just know what I like and I like John Denver.

He was a great songwriter.

Colorado loved him and still watches the PBS tributes to him and his "simple songs." I think he truly believed that somehow the good people with sunshine on their shoulders and enjoying a Rocky Mountain high would prevail.

and to think that I look back and think of those days as Simpler Times.

Every time I hear a John Denver song, it takes me back to happy times in my childhood (growing up in a small town in the mountains of Colorado, no less!)
