I'm so very proud of my daughter!!!

She is 16, dropped out of school a year ago, however with reason. She's a type 1 diabetic since the 4th grade. None of the school nurses took it seriously! She was always absent, since the school program never abided to her issues. Pulled her out of public school and put her into a chapter school, who did not have a nurse, and she was treated wonderfully! They only went to 8th grade. She went to 9th grade at the high school, and they didn't care. Pulled her out October of last year.

Now enrolled into the GED program at our community college. She is 16. Has only been there for 3 weeks. Had her take the preGed exam last week, and passed with flying colors with 3 subjects. Asked her to sign up for the early GED testing of those subjects and she took that yesterday.

Got test results today, passed all three!!! Beautifully!!! Only has to pass 2 more, that she's in the head of her class at those already. I'm sure she'll pass those 2 beautifully.

She will walk, with the class of 2014, cap and gown. She will be issued an actual High School Diploma! Not a GED. 2 yrs ahead of the time she was supposed to.

I'm very proud of my baby girl. Granted, she's not a baby anymore, however she's still my baby, to me!!!

I love her so very much. She is my first and only girl. I so very proud of her, not only in school, also learning with us to control her condition. It hasn't been easy these past 7 years, diabetes messes with these poor kids minds. However, she has taken control of her life, and is LIVING it!!!

She's already had to figure so much out. I wonder what career she will into. Congrats to you both!

If you hadn't already found a wonderful solution, I'd be encouraging you to sue the school district.

One small question. What is a chapter school? Somehow I've never heard of them.

Right now only 180 students. Very small classes that teaches to the child's ability. The children are with the same teacher for 3 years. K-2, 3-5, and 6-8. My boys are in 1 and 2 grade there. My son in first is reading at a 3 grade level, and I'd in advanced math. My son in the second grade is reading at a 5 grade level. You have to be on a waiting list to get in.
