that you heated up on a wood stove.



The handle detached so you could iron with one while the other one was heating up and just swap them out when needed.

I would say that dates from the late 1910s, maybe central or eastern Europe?

had to quit school in the 6th grade to go to work. She did house work and washed clothes in the creek on a washboard and ironed them with one of those irons.
