I hope it was an easy passing, with you there to comfort her.

(30,947 posts)I feel your pain because I have lost 3 dogs over the past 12 years. It is like losing a part of your family. But 15 years is a good long life for a dog, and I am sure she had a happy life.

(34,060 posts)and i'm so sorry for your loss.
i lost my little furgirl early this summer. she was thirteen and came to live with me when she was ten. i knew her for a brief three and a half years and would have given anything to have had known her longer. my heart is still broken.
When you are sorrowful, look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

(8,219 posts)I still get choked up seeing the pic I posted of her, to the point where I had to logoff of DU yesterday. This was an especially tough loss for us, because we rescued her from the pound when she was a puppy, and she grew into such a huge part of our family. Even the people that worked at our vet's office were very sad, because they all knew her well.
Again - thanks for all of your kind words. The DU community really means a lot to me, as we have a way of coming together and comforting each other during times of loss such as this.
